A study by the Department of Transportation's National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) in the United States, concludes that it test on The Effects of Varying Levels of Nitrogen in the Inflation Gas of tyres on Laboratory Test Performance warned, "It should be noted that inflation with nitrogen merely slows the rate of diffusion of gas from the tyre and is not a substitute for regularly maintaining tyre pressure."
In plain english the tyre will still go down only slower
